The Breed

_The Nigerian Dwarf goat is a miniature breed of dairy goat originating in West Africa and developed in the United States. The balanced proportions of the Nigerian Dwarf give it the appearance of the larger breeds of dairy goats, but does stand no more than 22.5" and bucks no more than 23.5".  Nigerian Dwarf goats produce rich, sweet milk with high butterfat.

Background

_We strive to breed high quality Nigerian Dwarf goats with a primary focus on production and dairy character.  We are members of the American Dairy Goat Association (AGDA).  We participate in ADGA performance programs including yearly linear appraisal and dairy herd improvement registry (DHIR).  We tested negative for CAE and CL in 2008; since that time we have been a closed herd.

Breeding Philosophy

_As breeders, it is our goal to assist in improving the overall Nigerian Dwarf breed. All Nigerian Dwarf goats are adorable creatures, but not all should become breeding stock. In order to improve the breed, we believe it is important to be honest. Anyone who buys a goat from us can be assured that we have bred the goat with mindfulness to bloodlines and overall dairy conformity. We will disclose if we do not think a doe has proper breeding potential and we will make every effort to put her in a pet home where she will not be bred. In addition, we will not sell males as bucks unless we believe they have excellent breeding potential.
