Does

Our does are extremely friendly and have very individual personalities. While they are all very sweet and adorable, it is important to breed for specific characteristics. We attempt to build strong dairy character in our does which includes overall conformity and strong mammary systems.

Pholia Farm QS Trinket
TrinketSideShow.jpg
Trinky Dink, Trinkstar, Trinkerdoodle, Big Trink, and Queen Trink: these are just a few of the names Trinket goes by around the barn. You can tell from her family tree that she is an impressive doe, but she is truly one of a kind. She is quite a character with her completely laid back and relaxed style. She knows that the action will come to her and just waits for visitors of the barn to lavish her with attention (or raisins would be even better). No running for this girl; you'd never catch her in the gym. In spite of her less than active lifestyle, she is not over weight. In fact, after kidding she's looking quite svelte. Trinket is strong in statue and has a good mammary system. Trinket is also known for the high butter fat in her milk.

Poppy Patch BT Shirley Temple
shirleytemplemay06.jpg
Shirley came to us from Poppy Patch in Montesano, WA. We purchased a buck out of her in 2007 (Poppy Patch RC Stowaway) and were very impressed with her. We were excited to add this great doe to our herd. She has a strong structure and wonderful mammary system. She has a charming personality. She meets us at the gate to ask for a treat in the most adorable, high-pitched voice. We're very pleased to have her here.

Jobi Follow
follow.jpg
Originally we thought that Follow was named such because she would be a mellow goat that would "follow" us around. That's not exactly the case. It turns out, Follow expects us to "follow." This is not to say she's mean or uncooperative; in fact, she's extremely sweet and compliant. However, she knows the routine and demands that it be "followed." For instance, milking time is 6:30 am and 6:30pm, not 6:40, 6:35 or even 6:31. It's just that she knows the rules and expects them to be "followed." As a teacher, Summer is also a stickler for the rules. She totally understands Follow, so they are fast friends. Follow has good overall conformity and we are very pleased with her Rosasharn and Jobi pedigree. In addition, she produces some of the sweetest milk we've ever tasted.

Wood Bridge Farm Vanity Fair
Vanity.jpg
We purchased Vanity from a breeder in Ohio and she's a beauty. If there was a Vanity Fair magazine for goats, she could be a cover girl. Vanity shows excellent width and strength in stature, as well as an excellent topline. We are also impressed with her rear udder arch and rump width. We're excited to see how she does in the 2008 show ring. For Scott and Vanity it was "love at first sight." Vanity could "do no wrong" in his eyes, even though she was quite precocious when she arrived (biting, pushing, and butting both goats and people). In addition, she's as strong as an ox, so it can be a test of wills if she doesn't want to comply. Fortunately, she has mellowed. Apparently now that she's established herself in the herd, she doesn't need to prove anything. Now she's rather laid back and friendly.

Wood Bridge Farm Wreyanna
anna.jpg
Anna is also a Wood Bridge doe from Ohio. She is a long with good dairy character. She's extremely feminine in appearance. She produces kids with excellent dairy character (long and lean w/ good angulation). Anna has very nice udder attachment; we are pleased with her milk production. Anna was quite the character when we first started milking her. She refused to jump up in the stanchion in spite of our persistent coxing. We would actually have to pick her up and place her on the milking stand. I think she was just being a little high-maintenance; wanting some extra attention. Now she races in and jumps right up. Anna is a complete sweetheart. She nuzzles and rubs against us constantly. Like Vanity, she also has a major crush on Scott and loves it when he's around the barn.

Goodnight Sweet Blue Rosabelle
SPandshiloh.jpg
Goodnight Sweet Blue Rosabelle, aka Sweetie Pie truly fits her name. She is a very sweet girl; friendly and personable. She has a distinctive, buckskin coloring that makes her a favorite among visitors to the farm. She has a daughter, Shiloh, who looks almost identical to her. She scored quite favorably in our 2008 ADGA Linear Appraisal.  She was excellent in both dairy character and body.

North Fork Oreo 'O Darling
oreo.jpg
Since kidding, Oreo is a changed goat. She used to be extremely aloof; caring little for the companionship of people. Now, she's very friendly. She loves treats and attention. When we first started milking her she would sit on the milking stand and one person would hold her up while the other milked. Now, she doesn't hesitate to hop into the milking stanchion. She's come a long way and it looks like she's a pretty good milker. Oreo does not have a huge udder, but it is correctly formed w/ properly placed teats and a solid medial.

Goodnight Tahoma Violet
violet2.jpg
Violet is very unique doe because she actually is violet in color. To be more accurate, she's a light shade of lavender. Violet is a quiet doe who spends most of her time with Sweetie Pie. We were very impressed with her 2008 ADGA Linear Appraisal scores.  She was excellent in body and very good in the areas of general appearance, dairy character and mammary.

Pholia Farm CH Rhapsody
rhapsody.jpg
Visitors notice Rhapsody right away because of her striking appearance. She has piecing blue eyes and beautiful red hair. Rhapsody has very nice dairy form with a long, lean look. She is both feminine and refined in stature. Rhapsody used to be a quiet, mild-mannered young goat. However, during her pregnancy she became quite vocal and assertive. Now visitors to the barn hear from Rhapsody right away as she, not-so-patiently, waits to be lavished with attention and treats.

Goodnight Wonder

wondergoat.jpg

Wonder has been a nice surprise for us.  We knew she was a nice goat, but because she's so quiet and unassuming we didn't notice her impressive traits right off.  After her first freshening we can now see she's very good in overall body capacity and dairy character.  We are interested to see how her udder develops as we start to milk her.  Right now she has solid udder formation with very good udder texture.

Cedar Vally Farm Caprica Sita
caprica2.JPG
In terms of personality, Caprica is a gem. She is a friendly, easy-going goat who enjoys attention, but does not have to be center-stage like some of our herd divas. She just has a laid-back philosophy toward life. In terms of appearance, Caprica's chest has good width and depth; her rear legs show excellent angulation. 2008 is her first freshening, so we will see how her mammary system develops.
