Herd Tested Negative: CAE & CL June 2008
This summer
we've started taking "woods walks."
The girls really seem to like it.
BACKGROUND
We started with a young herd of goats, but have
added several adults to strengthen the depth of our breeding program. We are striving to breed goats with overall good dairy
character, good milking qualities, and pleasant personalities. We are members of ADGA (American Dairy Goat Association),
AGS (American Goat Society), and NDGA (Nigerian Dwarf Goat Association). We participate in shows to learn more about this
wonderful breed and compare our animals to other high quality Nigerian Dwarf Goats. Annually we go through the linear
appraisal process with ADGA. This helps us make management decisions in our overall breeding program.
BREEDING PHILOSOPHY
As breeders, it is our goal to assist in improving the overall Nigerian Dwarf Goat breed. All Nigerian Dwarfs are adorable
creatures, but not all should become breeding stock. In order to improve the breed, we believe it is important to be honest.
Anyone who buys a goat from us can be assured that we have bred the goat with mindfulness to bloodlines and overall dairy
conformity. We will disclose if we do not think a doe has proper breeding potential and we will make every effort to put
her in a pet home where she will not be bred. In addition, we will not sell boys as bucks unless we believe they have excellent
breeding potential.
